Jumoke Akande Joins Avanti Communications As Chief Marketing Officer

Former Product Development Manager at MainOne Cable Compan, Jumoke Akande has joined Avanti Communications as Chief Marketing Officer.

Based in Avanti’s new offices in Lagos, Nigeria, Akande will be working closely with the company’s teams across the globe. She will be responsible for developing an integrated channel strategy across key sectors including mobility, enterprise, defence, and education.

Akande’s new role will be pivotal in accelerating Avanti’s rollout across Africa. Libby Barr, Chief Operating Officer (COO), at Avanti Communications, expressed delight in having Akande come into the company with her not less than two decades of experience in marketing communication, noting that her experience will be vital in helping the brand achieve its set goals.

Prior to joining Avanti, Akande was an Associate Director at GICL/IHS Towers where she oversaw their fibre and rural telephony marketing strategy. She has also held senior roles at MainOne, Dell Technologies and consulted for leading Multi National Organisations (MNOs) in Africa including MTN Nigeria.
