Tech Personality of the Week! Stanley Jacob

Stanley Jacob is currently the Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Financial Services Limited. The wholly owned Fintech Subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC PLC and a member of Standard Bank Group of South Africa.

He is a global Fintech Executive and Business Leader with a history of consistency, Innovation and passion towards the development of the global Fintech space. He also has a strong drive for platform orchestration, nurturing start-ups, driving innovations, partnerships and financial inclusion.

He is the vice president of the Governing council for Fintech Association of Nigeria (FINTECHMGR), Past Chairman of the Committee for e-Business Industry Heads of Nigeria (CeBIH) and currently a permanent member of the advisory council of CeBIH. Stanley is also a member of the Fintech and Innovation as well as the capacity building committee of the Governing Council for the Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FICA).

Prior to joining Stanbic IBTC, he was the director of Financial Institutions (West Africa) at Masters Card, Served at Ecobank group as head of Consumer payments supporting 33 countries across Africa and doubled as head of distributions at Ecobank Nigeria.

SJ as he is fondly called played a significant role at Standard Chattered Bank where he served as the head of Digital Bank supporting retail markets across Africa. He was the pioneer Chief Operating Officer for Fortis Mobile Money (one of the first 16 licensed Mobile Money operator in Nigeria).

Stanley Jacob is a fellow of the Chattered institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), a licensed project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Cards and Payment Professional (CCPP) and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA).

He holds an MBA in Technology Management from ADBU India, Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Business from Emeritus Singapore, Post-Graduate in Public Administration. He has completed courses in Executive Management and Strategy, Cybersecurity and digital finance from the University of Oxford, Columbia Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University), Terry College of Business (University of Georgia) among others.

Stanley Jacob is currently a Doctoral Researcher at the Universidad Catholica San Antonio de Murcia in Spain with a research focus on Operationalizing Green Banking in Nigeria – as a key component of achieving the global climate and sustainability objectives.
