The DTTWG would also reduce the Information and Communication Technology bottlenecks in doing businesses in the State.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Lafia on Tuesday, Acting Head of Service (HoS) in the State, Mr Abigail Waya, said the DTTWG will ensure the implementation of the approved ICT policy in the state.

She added that it would also help the state to key into the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for transparency in governance and improve the quality and cost effectiveness of public service delivery in the state.
“The Nasarawa State e-Government Master Plan seeks the utilisation of information and communication technology to drive transparency in governance and improve the quality and cost effectiveness of public service delivery in the state.

“In line with the master plan, all government operations are expected to move to digital platforms, and all workers proficient in the use of information technologies, ensuring service delivery is assured.

“The objective of the Digital Transformation Technical Working Group (DTTWG) is to understand the impact of ICT training programs on the success of e-government services to improve digital competency along with decreasing the digital divide concerning ICT development in Nasarawa State,” she added.

Waya expressed optimism that the creation of the State’s DTTWG would bring unique experiences and discuss critical issues that would accelerate and strengthen the wheel of the digital transformation agenda for the progress of the state.

She, therefore called on members of the group to ensure that the needed change is gained by the State and its workers for the benefits of all citizens of the state.

Responding, Chairman of the group who doubles as the Director General (DG) Nasarawa State Bureau for Information and Communication Technology (BITC), Mr Shehu Ibrahim, assured the state government that the group would ensure that ICT gives its impact in the state.

“Our being here signify a great change in ICT in the state. The government on its part has shown commitment and desire to change ICT and make it a vital part of growth in the state.

“I am confident that with the quality of people in this committee, we shall achieve our goals and make Nasarawa State proud,” he said.
