Edo state government has won the Best State in e-Governance Award in Nigeria at the 20th anniversary of the prestigious Titans of Tech Awards which held recently in Lagos.
According to the organisers, Edo State Government was adjudged overall winner among other states nominated in the category for significantly advancing the state’s technological landscape through substantial investments in digital infrastructure and youth development.
In a citation, the organisers noted that Edo state under Governor Godwin Obaseki is the first to operate a paperless Governance in Nigeria and the first to fully digitize government processes, setting a benchmark for efficiency and transparency. The organisers also highlighted the ongoing efforts by the state governor to make Edo a technology and innovation hub in Africa.

In the area of Digital Infrastructure, the state has laid approximately 1,200km of fiber optics and developed a tier 4 data center, positioning itself to adopt AI and enhance government services.
At the event, Governor Godwin Obaseki was also inducted into the prestigious Titans of Tech Hall of fame in recognition of his excellent service, dedication and astronomical achievement in Digital Transformation in Edo State.
Honourable Ogbeide Ifaluyi-isibor who represented the Edo State Governor commended the organisers of the Titans of Tech Awards for the consistency, innovation and commitment over the last twenty years and for the transparency in the awards process.
The Titans of Tech Awards popularly called Nigeria’s Tech Industry Grammy is designed to celebrate hi-tech most important movers and shakers; the pioneers, innovators and connectors. Men, women, organisation and institutions who are at the forefront of pushing technology adoption and usage in Nigeria and across Africa.
