An edu-tech company leading the way in university students’ networking and empowerment across Africa, Proj-Konnect Integrated Systems Limited (ProjKonnect), has announced its partnership-driven sponsorship of the next five editions of the annual Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition. The sponsorship, to be paid for via a revenue sharing scheme, is worth N375 million over the five years under review, 2025-2029.

This announcement was made today by Mr. Paul Ojo, CEO of ProjKonnect, at a virtual partnership meeting the company held with officials of Digital Africa Global Consult Limited, the owner and organizer of the annual continental tech show. Projkonnect is a Nigerian registered tech company with operations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State while Digital Africa is based in Abuja, FCT.

According to Mr. Ojo, “We are pleased to take up the exclusive Official Africa EduTech Sponsorship of Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition which has been held every year since 2013 because it is a powerful complement for what we are doing at Projkonnect. This pan-African technology event aligns with our own vision to empower the continent’s university students and youths with tools, resources, and networks to foster innovation, collaboration, and skill development, contributing to Africa’s digital transformation. We therefore look forward to participating actively, not only in the annual flagship event, but also in the Digital Africa 100 Awards, a pre-conference event to be held annually from 2025 in each of the five regions of Africa: Central Africa, East Africa, North Africa, Southern Africa and West Africa.”

In his response, Dr. Evans Woherem, Chairman of Digital Africa, said, “If indeed the 21st century is the African Century, we all must focus on how best to help and enable the young population of our continent to compete with their peers all over the world. I must commend Paul and his team for establishing the ProjKonnect platform to bring students from across Africa under one online umbrella to learn from themselves and to support one another. We therefore encourage such youngsters from Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Angola, DR Congo, Cameroon, etc, to take full advantage of this initiative.”

The CEO of Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition, Mr. Frederick Apeji, explained that, “The partnership-driven sponsorship of ProjKonnect is a good model of what we encourage in Africa. Just as ProjKonnect has taken advantage of our continental tech event platform to drive its edu-tech offerings, we encourage other companies and organizations in Nigeria and the rest of African to similarly carve a stake for themselves at the annual Digital Africa, using it to drive their pan-African projects and initiatives.”

Apeji added that, “A critical success factor for Digital Africa in the past 12 years has been the enthusiastic embrace of the event by the Nigerian government. Since Nigeria established its own federal ministry of ICT, the ministers in charge (Mrs. Omobola Johnson 2011-2015, Hon. Adebayo Shittu 2015-2019, and Prof. Isah Ali Ibrahim Pantami 2019-2023) have all participated in and supported this continental tech show, hosted annually in Abuja. The key agencies of this federal ministry have in the past participated as speakers, sponsors and exhibitors in Digital Africa.”

“Starting from the 13th Digital Africa 2025, we are stepping forward to engage the public sector across the continent more actively, focusing on other pillar countries: Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal (West Africa); Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya (East Africa); Egypt, Algeria and Morocco (North Africa); South Africa, Angola and Zambia (Southern Africa); and DR Congo, Cameroon and Gabon (Central Africa).”

The 13th Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition is scheduled for September 2-24, 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria. The designated host cities for the pre-conference Digital Africa 100 Awards 2025 are Accra, Ghana (representing West Africa); Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (East Africa); Cairo, Egypt (North Africa); Johannesburg, South Africa (Southern Africa); and Kinshasa, DR Congo (Central Africa).
