The adoption of ISPs is yet to reach the expected threshold as its subscriber base has failed to match that of the MNOs

The ISP market in Nigeria is currently struggling to stay afloat due to competition from the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) like MTN, Airtel, Globacom and 9mobile. This has been evident in the noticeable drop in the ISP license renewal rate in Nigeria over the years

As at 2022, about 568 ISP licensees were inactive.
