Behold the Top 10 States With the Most Registered Voters Ahead of 2027 Elections
Lagos leads with 7.49 million registered voters, followed by Kano and Kaduna, as Nigeria’s national voter register rises to 103.43 million ahead of the 2027 polls.
The 2027 general elections are already taking shape, with new figures from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showing the states with the largest registered voter populations across Nigeria.
According to INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the national voters’ register now stands at 103,428,715 registered voters following the completion of the commission’s three-phase Continuous Voter Registration exercise and biometric clean-up.
Lagos leads the country with 7,488,633 registered voters, followed by Kano with 6,570,276 and Kaduna with 4,662,640.

The figures highlight the wide variation in voter registration across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
INEC also announced that nationwide collection of newly issued Permanent Voter Cards is scheduled to commence on October 9, 2026, while the voters’ register is expected to be displayed for public scrutiny during the same period.
The 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, according to INEC’s official election calendar.
