NGX Rally Intensifies as Critical Minerals, Thomas Wyatt, UPDC Top Gainers
Critical Minerals Financing Corp. surged 59.80% to top the gainers’ chart as Nigerian equities extended their winning streak for a third consecutive week.
The Nigerian equities market maintained its positive momentum in the week ended September 25, 2026, with the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) advancing 0.92% to close at 252,113.41 points.
Market capitalisation also increased by about ₦1.50 trillion, closing the week at ₦163.66 trillion, as renewed buying interest pushed several stocks sharply higher.
Critical Minerals Financing Corp. emerged as the week's biggest gainer, rising 59.80% to close at ₦3.26 per share.
It was followed by Thomas Wyatt Nigeria, which gained 28.26% to ₦2.95, while UPDC advanced 24.19% to ₦3.85.
Other notable gainers included Omatek Ventures, up 23.33% to ₦1.48; Fortis Global Insurance, which rose 21.21% to ₦2.00; and R.T. Briscoe Nigeria, gaining 20.22% to ₦10.70.
Nascon Allied Industries climbed 17.81% to ₦188.50, while Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals gained 17.16% to ₦7.85.
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) advanced 16.92% to ₦152, with ABC Transport completing the top 10 after gaining 13.33% to ₦5.10.
Nascon recorded the week's largest absolute price increase, adding ₦28.50 per share.
The broader market rally came amid increased investor interest in equities following the Central Bank of Nigeria's 350-basis-point reduction in the Monetary Policy Rate, alongside declining Treasury-bill yields.
Sectorally, the NGX Oil & Gas Index gained 3.91%, while the NGX Banking Index advanced 2.36%, reflecting stronger performances in both sectors during the week.
